About this Publication:
The African Yearbook of International Humanitarian Law (AYIHL) is an annual legal journal. The aim of AYIHL is to promote interest and research in International Humanitarian Law and Policy.  The AYIHL provides an attractive and positive forum for publications on all aspects of International Humanitarian Law of relevance to Africa and African academics. 
 
Ideally, through its encouragement of interest and research, the publication will contribute to the prevention of violations of International Humanitarian Law.

Garth Abraham is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

Michael Cowling is a Professor of Law, and Dean of the Faculty of Law, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
 
Hennie Strydom is a Professor of Law at the University of Johannesburg.
 
Apart from their interest and expertise in Public International Law generally, all three editors have a particular interest in International Humanitarian Law.
